The Searchline Excel by Honeywell Analytics is an Infrared Open Path Flammable Gas Detector. The Honeywell 2104B2081 transmitter sends an infrared beam to the receiver, and the gas is detected by absorption in the infrared beam. Supplied in three versions, dependent on area size. Short-range (5-40m), medium-range (40-120m) and long-range (120-200m).
Searchline Excel Honeywell 2104B2081 is fully certified for hazardous area use. It can be deployed in harsh environments, unaffected by sunlight or other radiation from storms and flare stacks, making it ideal for the oil and gas sector. A xenon flash lamp creates an exclusive pulse duration and shape which the receiver recognises and disregards potentially interfering signals. A filter is included to ensure operational integrity in conditions of fog or rain.
The DX termination unit (UL only) is for mounting and wire connections, with an intrinsically safe connection socket for the SHC-1 handheld interrogator, used for configuration and maintenance. Included is a multi-drop Modbus RS485 interface.
For direct connection to Excel (ATEX/IECEx versions), the interrogator must be used with the SHC protection device module and lead (part 04230-A-1025). The area would have to be made safe before connection. For non-intrusive configuration and maintenance, the Searchline can be paired with XNX or OELD smart junction box to avoid area declassification.
